The National Melbourne
Celebrating a Rich History, Nurturing a Bright Future
The National Melbourne is a not-for-profit organisation that relies on the generosity of people like you to help us cultivate creativity and excellence in the performing arts through our historic theatre and our ballet and drama schools.
You may choose to support the future stars of stage and screen through our Arts Education and Training Fund (including our Scholarship Fund) or to contribute to the maintenance and restoration of our historic premises through the School Building Fun and campaigns such as the Rainbow Relief Fund.

Rainbow Relief Fund
At The National Theatre, we are committed to improving every moment of our visitor experience and to ensuring all members of the community feel welcome, safe, respected and valued.
The Rainbow Relief Fund will help us to bring our historic restrooms into the 21st Century with more toilets, new basins, gender neutral bathroom, new tiles and a fresh coat of paint.
Thanks to generous support from Creative Partnerships Australia’s Plus1 Program all funds raised will be matched – up to $25k!

Donations
The National Melbourne has Tax Deductible Gift Recipient Status, so all donations over $2 are tax deductible. Your donation will be warmly welcomed and will support the activities and facilities at the National Melbourne including our historic venue, drama school and ballet school.

Bequests are an important source of support for The National Theatre and its Schools. They ensure we continue to thrive and make it possible to continue and expand the range of activities.
Wills must meet certain legal requirements, so we recommend you seek legal advice from a public trustee or solicitor. If you already have a will, you can simply add a supplement setting out your bequest instructions.
We recommend making out your gift for the general purposes of National Theatre. For further information, please contact the CEO on (03) 9534 0221, or via email: ceo@nationaltheatre.org.au
Please let us know if you intend to include the National Theatre in your will or ask your solicitor to inform us. Your enquiries will be handled in confidence.

Scholarships
The National Ballet School and Drama School offer scholarships to gifted and dedicated students who may not otherwise be able to pursue professional studies. Your provision of a Scholarship or donation to the current scholarship fund will give a young ballet dancer or budding thespian the experience of a lifetime, enabling them to hone their craft in one of Australia’s leading performing arts training institutions.
