New Partnership Between The National Ballet School and Studio 7 Brings Dancewear Entrepreneur Full Circle

Studio 7 Dancewear and The National Ballet School have joined forces to outfit the next generation of ballet dancers as they undertake casual and pre-professional dance training.

The new supply partnership has been forged through a creative combination of entrepreneurialism, passion and serendipity exemplified by Victoria Blidman, the founder and director of Studio 7 Dancewear.

“I was a student at The National (Theatre) Ballet School from the age of 3, and spent my childhood inspired to dance by the wonderful teachers at the school,” recalls Victoria. “In 2007, while still a student at the School, I decided to create a new brand of dancewear that would be like a 7th studio to the six studios at The National. From there, the concept for Studio 7 was born”.

Victoria and her small team set out with a clear vision to create dancewear that will inspire and enrich the dance experience and cater for the specific needs of dancers everywhere. After 12 months creating a brand and products, Studio 7 Dancewear sold its very first leotard to students at the National Ballet School.

Fast forward 16 years, and Studio 7 Dancewear has become a much loved and trusted label for thousands of dancers across Australia and New Zealand. It now sells a large range of dancewear and dance accessories for class, stage and everything in-between. Studio 7 products are sold direct to dancers on studio7dancewear.com, and through independent dancewear retailers.

The uniforms for students training at The National Ballet School from 2024 will feature Studio 7 Dancewear with specialists from Studio 7 assisting students to finesse the crucial selection of footwear – from ballet flats to pointe shoes.
