Old Friends Sing Sondheim November 16: 3pm & 6pm

OLD FRIENDS SING SONDHEIM

Mark Trevorrow, the creator of Aussie comedy icon Bob Downe, is returning to Melbourne to sing as himself – along with his Old Friends Rupert Noffs and Bev Kennedy. Together they weave a mesmerising tribute cabaret, Old Friends Sing Sondheim, showcasing their remarkable musicianship and deep admiration for Stephen Sondheim’s unparalleled musical theatre songbook. Expect a night filled with stories, spontaneous humour and a profound appreciation for Sondheim‘s musical and lyrical brilliance – all with a queer bent!

“Bob Downe’s not invited, he says, but a smirk here and a gurgling laugh remind us of his alter ego. It’s a great opportunity to confirm his talent as a cabaret performer and an elegant singer… He has the audience right where he wants them” – SAMELA HARRISAdelaide Advertiser

“It seemed only fitting that one of Trevorrow’s regular guests, RUPERT NOFFS and his delectable voice should join him, culminating in the stunning duet OLD FRIENDS” – MATTHEW HOCTERtheatretravels.org

‘Musical director BEV KENNEDY is an old friend and one of the country’s finest. They are such a team. Cabaret bookers should check this one out… a standing ovation” – Adelaide Advertiser

“FABULOUS! So good together and the arrangements are amazing” – GINA RILEY

“A wonderful, funny show about friendship” – ALAN CUMMING

“Very cool … Musically sound .. and good chemistry” – RICHARD JAY ALEXANDERConcert Director, Barbra Streisand & Bette Midler
