My Recollections OF JANET ANDREWARTHA
I was lucky enough to go through the Nash with the lovely Janet Andrewartha. She was an outstanding actor, singer and friend. In a more sensible universe, she’d be acclaimed for far more than she is.
I can’t find the better photos of her which I have somewhere, but here’s one of her (and me) from a kids’ musical for which she and I wrote the songs, that we and a couple of other 2nd year students performed in the theatrette over a Xmas season (thanks to Joan Harris) and later in the St Kilda Festival. Also a clipping from 1980 of her in a Victoria State Opera schools tour of ‘Ticka Tocka Linga’ (with Andrew Murrell, in overalls, from the year after us — I later played Andrew’s role after he left, following the loss of his mother).
