Celebrating a Rich History, Nurturing a Bright Future
The National Melbourne is a not-for-profit organisation that relies on the generosity of people like you to help us cultivate creativity and excellence in the performing arts through our historic theatre and our ballet and drama schools.
You may choose to support the future stars of stage and screen through our Arts Education and Training Fund (including our Scholarship Fund) or to contribute to the maintenance and restoration of our historic premises through the School Building Fun and campaigns such as the Rainbow Relief Fund
RAINBOW RELIEF FUND
At The National Theatre, we are committed to improving every moment of our visitor experience and to ensuring all members of the community feel welcome, safe, respected and valued.
The Rainbow Relief Fund will help us to bring our historic restrooms into the 21st Century with more toilets, new basins, gender neutral bathroom, new tiles and a fresh coat of paint.
A M ESSAGE FROM OUR CEO
Managing a 103 year old heritage listed building is a joy, but it can present challenges – and we were faced with one such dilemma last July when a boiler pipe burst, with water damaging heritage plasterwork in the theatre foyers.
Thanks to generous donors through a ‘Love the Nash Giving Day’, we raised the funds to repair and refresh the impacted areas in the upper bar and main theatre foyer. New plaster work created by true artisans at Vision Ornate Plaster has replaced the damaged fittings and revitalised the ornate décor. Likewise, the talented heritage painters from Prestige Painting provided a fresh coat of paint that enhances the theatre and is bringing such joy to artists and audiences.
The National is committed to the ongoing restoration of our beautiful building, and I encourage you to please donate to our fundraising and help us continue to look after this magnificent St Kilda theatre that continues to provide a place for students to learn from the best teachers, and for audiences to be entertained.
Thank You!
Sarah Hunt, CEO

Bequests
Bequests are an important source of support for The National Theatre and its Schools. They ensure we continue to thrive and make it possible to continue and expand the range of activities.
Wills must meet certain legal requirements, so we recommend you seek legal advice from a public trustee or solicitor. If you already have a will, you can simply add a supplement setting out your bequest instructions.
We recommend making out your gift for the general purposes of National Theatre.
Please let us know if you intend to include the National Theatre in your will or ask your solicitor to inform us. Your enquiries will be handled in confidence.
