Fabio Motta is an award-winning performer and teaching artist who has performed and devised theatre in Australia, Italy, and the United States. He has trained and is a graduate of international arts institutions including The Accademia Teatrale Veneta (Italy) and HB studio in New York, and has worked with renowned artists and teachers such as Carol Rosenfeld, Larry Moss, Lyndsey Davies, Austin Pendleton. Fabio studied Clown and Le Jeu with Philippe Gauliere; Clown, and Bouffon pedagogy with Giovanni Fusetti. He apprenticed and taught under Zack Fines in Clowning and Games at New York University and trained in the advance teacher training in Clown with Christopher Bayes (Head of Physical Acting at the Yale School of Drama).

Working extensively as an actor in Australia and abroad with companies like the Australian Shakespeare Company, Born in a Taxi, Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival and The Russian Arts Theatre, he also has multiple TV and film credits to his name including Ronny Chang International student, Utopia season 4, Carla Cametti PD, Slant and Little Tornados (MIFF 2021). His critically acclaimed solo-show SPOT had a sold-out season in 2021 at Theatre Works and raving reviews in his return season in 2022. Most recently, he has received a Green Room Award for ‘Best Performer’ for SPOT in 2022.

He is a certified Associate teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework® and the regional coordinator for Australia and New Zealand. Fabio has taught at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, HB studio, the Ume Group (Physical Theatre Ensemble New York), St. Martin’s Youth Theatre, the National Theatre Drama School, Tamasha Theatre company (UK), the Victorian College of the Arts, University of West Virginia, The Actors Studio MFA program, 16th Street Actors Studio, Brave Studio, St. Martins Youth theatre, and is the Founder and Director of The Clowning Workshop in Melbourne (Naarm).
