Wesley College Elsternwick presents

Shrek The Musical

11 - 13 August

Once upon a time, in a faraway swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairy-tale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he is handed a task — if he rescues feisty Princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. As Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, there are a few twists and turns along the way.

Shrek is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family, a message of finding true acceptance. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek the musical has been carefully and joyfully rehearsed, post COVID lockdowns, by the Middle School students at Wesley College’s Elsternwick campus. The enthusiastic cast of 50 brings the story of Shrek to life, with imaginative sets, colourful costumes and live orchestra. With a host of over-the-top fairy tale characters, there’s fun for everyone in this dazzling adventure story.
