The National Theatre presents
Oedipus Doesn't Live Here Anymore
8 September
“…a streetwise anarchistic blend of modern day horror and ancient Greek mythology.” City Hub Sydney
“A rare work of art that can at once entertain and horrify.” Arts Hub
What if Oedipus lived next door and the whole street knew what he’d been up to with his own mother because of graffiti sprayed on his garage door?
Award winning playwright Daniel Evans brings the drama and horror of an Ancient Greek myth to the sleepy cul-de-sacs of modern Australian disturbia in this darkly comic and savage spin off from Sophocles’ 2500-year-old Theban plays.
A play by Daniel Evans
Directed by Janice Muller
Performed by final year Advanced Diploma of Acting students.
Warning: Strong adult themes, violence, coarse language.
