LEHENDA - Ukrainian Soul, Australian Soil
LEHENDA – Ukrainian Soul, Australian Soil, shares
Featuring a wide repertoire of regional Ukrainian dances, video interviews as well as the work ‘Kyiv’which premiered in 2018.
‘Kyiv’ tells the legend of Kyi, Shchek, Khoryv and their sister Lybid, as founders of Kyiv. It represents the birth of the Ukrainian nation through its capital, and goes on to show Ukraine’s endurance through the constant battle for freedom. Again today, Ukraine is fighting for their freedom. As they fight on their soil, we work to continue to share the beauty and riches of the Ukrainian culture, which cannot, and will not be erased.
Using all original choreography by Melanie Moravski Dechnicz, the dancers will bring these works to life with energy, excitement and respect to the Ukrainian culture.
Experience the Birth of a Nation and discover the richness of a land filled with beauty, culture and tradition!
