They are guided to plan, structure and rehearse drama, exploring ways to communicate and refine dramatic meaning. Through guidance from the teachers, students now begin to develop and refine their expressive skills in voice and movement to communicate ideas and dramatic action in different performance styles and conventions.

When performing devised and scripted drama, students use a range of performance styles, and apply stagecraft elements they have learned throughout the term. Students are guided to identify and analyse how the elements of drama are used, combined and manipulated in different styles, and apply this knowledge to the drama they make and perform. They use their growing performance skills, stagecraft and design elements to shape and focus relationships with an audience.

A ‘showing’ is performed for family and friends at the end of each term.
