Course Overview

The stage awaits. Your dreams of being a stage actor start here.

Join one of The National Drama School’s new Stage Performance Ensembles and learn the craft of acting. Over four terms, passionate young actors and theatre makers will develop their skills and find their creative voice in a highly focussed environment led by expert industry professionals and teachers.

First term sets the foundation for your ensemble with a focus on improvisation, movement and teamwork skills. After working with scripts, voice and character skills in term two, the third term culminates in a showcase performance in The National Theatre. In the final term, students work as a team to devise their own performance.

Term 1 Creating the Ensemble Ensemble, Improvisation and Movement.
Term 2 Creating Character Working with scripts, developing voice and character skills.

Terms one and two culminate in an open class for parents and family to attend.

Term 3 Scripted Performance Preparing for Public Performance – The ensembles will perform as part of a mainstage production on 24 and 25 August 2023.

Term 4 Devised Performance This term culminates in a performance in the Blackbox Theatre.
