The National Theatre

The National Theatre in Melbourne is run by a team of people who are passionate about where they work and the work that they do.

Our organisation comprises an 800-seat venue and two schools – one for Ballet and one for Drama, both of which train young people from after-school activities through to full-time professional training. Our professional team includes artistic leadership, technicians, administrators, venue relationship management, ticketing, finance, marketing and fundraising. We work together as a small team to achieve success throughout the year for our students, teachers, hirers and audiences. Duty Front of House Manager (NT001)

Casual Position
$33.10 per hour + up to 9.5% super (Penalty Rates Apply)

We are looking for skilled individuals with proven experience in a hospitality/ functions and events environment to join us as a Duty Front of House Manager . In this role you will excel in the detail of coordinating the front-of-house team, catering and event requirements, and will delight in ensuring the delivery of a customer-focused, industry-best, proactive service in a busy service-driven environment. You will have proven experience of hospitality/catering services in a venue environment which is complemented by a solid understanding of the entertainment industry. Owing to the fast-paced nature of this team, applicants must relish variety, value the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to be multi-skilled, and thrive in an environment where adaptability is required. Well-developed communication skills and management experience are requisite for this role. Previous experience or understanding of event ticketing services would be valued.

Mandatory Criteria
● Reliable and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
● Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate
● Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain
● A current “Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate”

Front of House Service Attendants (NT010) & Bar Attendants (NT011)

Casual Positions
$28.32 per hour + up to 9.5% super (Penalty Rates Apply)

The National Theatre is looking for skilled individuals with proven experience in a hospitality/functions and events environment to join us as: Front of House Service Attendants – Usher and Bar, where you will excel in providing outstanding customer service in a busy service-driven environment. Owing to the fast-paced nature of this team, applicants must relish variety, value the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to be multi-skilled, and thrive in an environment where adaptability is required. Front of House Service Attendants provide a multi-skilled service including; door attendant, selling programs, delivering the food and beverage service, and other duties as required. Bar Attendant duties are predominately food and beverage; event services, bar attendant tasks, stock-control, transactions and cash-handling. You must have a current RSA certificate, previous experience in a customer service / retail environment, including cash handling and the reconciliation of takings. Barrister skills would be valued.
