ABOUT THE ELEVATE PERFORMANCE PROGRAM
“Having access to a home stage above the dance studios is a wonderful experience that I will never forget.
I have made many friends and industry connections through being part of the National Theatre Ballet School Family.
I can’t wait for the next term of the Elevate Performance Program!” – Elana Harris
The National Theatre Ballet School gives opportunities to dancers from Australia and New Zealand aged 13 to 17 years and living in regional and remote areas, who show excellent ballet facility.
Entry to The Elevate Performance Program is by audition. This two-week experience with the National Theatre Ballet School is offered up to three times a year to develop young artists by focusing on Performance.
Elevate students will expand their dance, performance, choreographic skills, and technique while connecting with other like-minded peers and forming lifelong bonds with others, under the famous National Theatre Ballet School banner.
The Elevate Performance Program offers pathways as the students mature in their dance practice and drive to prepare for full-time professional training.
Elevate associates experience professional-level coaching opportunities from former highly acclaimed professional dancers and, specialty male coaching from Artistic Director Damian Smith.
Ballet, Contemporary, and other dance genres are explored via ‘The Choreography Workshop’ creative season.
All productions and studio performances will be performed within the school’s multiple venues, including our very own 800 seat beaux arts theatre (The National Theatre Melbourne) and intimate black box theatre.
Students must be aged between 13 and 17. Female students must be én pointe, male students at an Intermediate level and above.
